Guidelines for the 2008 IMC International Mathematics Contest

1.0 Schedule of Activity:
19th July 2008 – Contest Proper 9:00AM

20th July 2008 - Prize Presentation 3:00PM
Venue: RELC International Auditorium
2.0The Deadline of Registration: 01 June 2008.
3.0The Organizers are willing to recommend travel agency for arranging and set the specific time of the tour for all the participants for the :
3.1Primary School Visit (Per Visit: 120 students)
3.2“Get together” Dinner to be held in Sentosa on 20th July 2008
3.3Sightseeing
Remarks: Optional Tours/ Visit can be arranged after the contest and Prize Presentation
4.0 2008 IMC International Mathematics Contest: Questionnaire, Certificates & Medals
4.1Questionnaire & Age Group
4.1.1ChinaIMC committee will be setting the Test Questions.
4.1.2Philippines, Singapore and related Mathematics Division are designated to check, verify and amend the test questions accordingly.
4.1.3Test Questions will be divided into different grades from 4 to 11. In totality, the 8 different grades will be fixed according to their age group.
4.2Certificates & Medals
4.2.1Certificates & Medals will be given to students according to students results.
4.2.2Gold / Silver / Bronze Medals & Certificates will be given out accordingly.
4.2.3Medals will be categorized as Gold, Silver and Bronze.
5.02008 IMC International Mathematics Contest Coordinating Committee
ChinaIMC committee will be the coordinating committee. Actual contacts will be given once registration is made.This year, in order to have an immediate attention for all our arrangements (Hotels/ Transportations/ Meals/ Sightseeing etc.); we have appointed a dedicated Singapore Travel Agent. (We will be giving you the Singapore Appointed Travel Agent once registrations are made.)
6.0 2008 IMC International Mathematics Contest Proctors
Every participating city/country must provide one proctor who will assist the organizers in maintaining the smooth conduct and in preserving the reliability, dignity of the contest. It should be noted that proctor should not be designated where his/her participants are assigned.
7.02008 IMC Registration Fees
7.1Each country can directly liaise with the appointed travel agent for the necessary arrangement or requirements.
7.2Payment for all arrangements will be made directly to the appointed travel
Agent.
7.3Registration fee of USD 50.00 will be charged to every participant and such amount must be paid to China IMC Coordinating Committee for the construction of Questionnaire, Certificates, Medals and Rental of Auditorium, etc.
